PPP Made My Day!

Another day another penny day! This morning is very exciting because I got another opportunities. Thanks a lot payperpost for the slot! Before I was very impatient of waiting for the slot, and always keep in track to see if there's opportunity available for me. I sometimes got frustrated because of those color codes. Now, I am glad that I can do more things at home after taking 3 opportunities in the morning. I have more time to study my lesson and spend much time with Akesha at home. I hope I will maintain my performance. Though I am still waiting for the result of payperpost audit, and I don't know what to expect. I hope I will not be booted off.

Akesha Lourice @ 2 & 1/2

I never noticed how time drastically change. Our daughter Akesha just turned two and a half this month. Wow, how amazing! The changes and improvements that she have made is awesome. I can't imagine when she was born 3 weeks premature, and now she's a hands full. She is a character, she is loud like her father, she is funny and witty. She speak few words and learning more filipino language. She and her father sometimes don't get along because she speak tagalog. hahahhaha! Greg will always call me and ask my help to translate what his daughter is saying. Well, he wants me to teach Akesha to speak my language in the first place. And now, Greg is learning some common tagalog words, so Akesha and him will understand each other.hahhahah!
Few more years Akesha will be in the preschool. Oh my goodness! I'm gonna miss my baby for sure.

What that means is I got few opportunities now to take from PPP than before. I am very very much thankful to all my fellow bloggers. I already did three of them and I want to do more, but the thing is we can only take 3 posts once a day. Not bad actually! Thank you so much PPP. Thumbs up!!!

Megan's Law

"Megan's law is a federal bill that requires that the public to be kept informed of sexual and their whereabouts. Available information about sexual predators includes name, picture, address and nature of crime, and more...

The Megan's law, named for Megan Kanka, when she kidnapped, brutally raped and murdered by Jesse Timmendequas, a repeat violent sex offender, who was residing in the Kanka family's community. Jesse Timmendequas relocated to Megan's neighborhood already known to the police as violent sex offender, but the general public knew no better.

Jesse Timmendequas lived just across the street from the house of the Kanka family. It was later determined that Megan could have been protected if information about sexual predators had been available to public. Because of the horrible crime, since 1994, the exact location of any previous sex offenders is now required to be made available to the public.

Registered Sexual Offenders is your number one resource for obtaining the information you need. Get lists of sexual predators in your neighborhood Browse by state, county, and city or for best results, insert your zip code in the search field above. Find out if a sexual predator lives near you."

Mellow Sunday!

We went to my church this morning (catholic church) and we're a little bit off late. When we got there the place was filled already. That was hard for Greg to stand up while he carried Akesha. Finally we found a chair. Thank God!
The good thing is that the church is close from our new place now, we don't need to drive that far to find for a catholic church. Every time we go to a catholic church it always happens that the priest is a Filipino. How interesting. Well, I noticed that most of the mass goers were Filipino too. I am now surrounded with the Filipino community (I think!). Most of them aren't that friendly (I don't know!) ....hehehhe :)
After the church we headed back home and took a little bit of nap. We did not go anywhere today because it was too hot outside and we just hang out at home. Greg was busy updating his blogs while I'm preparing for dindin. Akesha was playing outside with buddy. And It was just a mellow day for us today :) never get any opportunity or something! hehehe...:)
We just had back ribs for dindin!hehehhe...:)

Google Page Rank

When I woke up this morning I went straight off to open my laptop, and to see if there is any opportunities available for me. Unfortunately there is no available opportunity from PPP and SS. So, I checked my email and I saw Rose's reply. She said "Oiiiissst may PR ka na baga! Congrats!" and I was shocked becuase I don't know my google pagerank yet. My blood rises and the excitement was overwhelming! I rushed off directly to my blog and check out the SEO stat, but still on zero. I checked the mypagerank.net and put my link there and the result? Well, the result was I'm on page rank 2! This is unbelievable. I never expect that to happen, and I never thought about it. I mean in just a short period of time (2 months). I kept refreshing it over and over again to see if it's mine or not. I started with my Alexa rank from 14 million and now it goes down to 600's thousand. I was ecstatic to see the difference.
I am very thankful to all my fellow bloggers who always been my regular visitors. I owe this rank from all of you guys. My networking and blogwalking pays off! Thanks Rose for the buzz.

P.S You might need to check this link to know more about pagerank.

3 Days in a ROW!

I was bummed out in the past 3 days about PPP. Why? Well, we all know that some of us have experienced this kind of problem. The problem I was having was I'm not qualified to take those opportunity but the color codes shows that I am qualified. Every time I click the white and yellow green opportunities I ended up going back to the list of opportunities. How irritating! I was really disappointed for the past 3 days. I thought I will be getting opportunities from PPP. Hmmm...I just need to calm down and take my patience in control. heheheh....who knows I will get some opportunities next time!
Anyhow, I have been busy from my school assignments and I have tons of articles to read. That's why I don't have much time to do the "blogwalking" thing. :) I hope I can keep up with all of you people! ehehhehe... :)

B-8... BINGO!!!!

I remember the great times playing bingo. My parents would pile all the kids into the small camper during the summer and we would go on a road trip somewhere around the country. My brothers and sisters and I would play bingo while my dad drove us around. It was great time. We also would play this during family gatherings when my family would come over for either Christmas or Thanksgiving. We also would play this game sometimes during Easter. We would go up to my parent’s living room and play for hours. I can’t wait until my daughter is older so I can teach her how to play the great game of bingo. I know she would think it is the greatest game ever. The game is not only fun, but it is educational too. The Disney Bingo game teaches colors, numbers and matching skills. What game can be more exciting then that? Screenlife Games' Disney Bingo DVD game is one of the greatest games for young kids and adults as well. It contains people’s favorite Disney characters and offers a high-tech twist. You should go to Amazon.com or Drugstore.com to be able to purchase this game. If you want an exciting game for you and your children, you will not want to miss purchasing this game.

What's for Dinner Honey?!

I did some gardening today and plants some flowers. I was exhausted digging the soil and my hands hurts. I need more flowers to plant to the other side of the garden. I just realized that gardening is a lot of work though I enjoy doing it. I am persistent to make it look attractive and inviting. I need to do some improvements before I invite people to come over in our house.
After I finished gardening I cook dinner while our little one sleeping. I made a baked salmon. We eat salmon 4 times a week. I believed that salmon is good for your heart specially that Greg has high cholesterol and hypertension. Well, my hubby always ask every time he come home
"honey what's for dindin? " Sounds funny to you? :) hahaha...! So, here's what we have for dindin folks! Chow!!!

Then let’s try to give more attention to them! So with this prize we must deliver it to 8 bloggers that in turn must make the same thing and put this text.

Top 5 Sports Highlights of All Time

Sports are a great American past time. People love to talk about great sporting events all the time or watch some great sports vids. One of my top five sporting events was when you had Morten Andersen completing the Dirty Birds’ journey from nowhere to the Super Bowl against the invincible Minnesota. Another one of my top five sporting events is the competition between Sammy Sosa and Mark Mcquire competing for the home run record which you can see on some great sports clips. Some other great sporting event is when Hank Aaron’s hit the 715 home run. That was history and will always be history even though other people have now beaten his home run record. Another great sporting event is when Babe Ruth made a home run record that was later beaten by Hank Aaron which you can watch on some online sports videos. My all time favorite sporting event was during a Stanford football game where the marching band entered the field early and the Standford football team was still able to complete a touchdown while the marching band was in the middle of the football field. You can see some great sporting events by watching some of the great sports videos. If you have some great sporting events that you love to talk about, you should visit SportsVids and you can upload your top 5 sports highlights. You should encourage your friends to do the same. Have fun!

Volunteers!

Sacramento is the biggest diversity in the States. Do you know that 60% of the population are Hispanic, African- American, and Asian? Yep! I can tell that most people live here aren't white. hehehhe...:)
This year we celebrated the 1st Annual
Sacramento World Music and Dance Festival. Since Greg's company is the premier sponsor of the event, we volunteered to work on his company's booth last Sunday. I love to do volunteer work ever since. I enjoyed talking with people and interact with them. I like to participate in this kind of activity. I think this is my 4th time working as a volunteer here in Sacramento. I used to work in the treasury department (Local Government Unit) and as a cashier of our family business, so I'm used to deal with people every single day. I'm not saying that I am good in public speaking, I just know how to communicate with people. hehehe...:) My husband always compliment me every time we work as a volunteer...he kept telling "you've done a great job honey!" Well, it's good to hear that my husband is proud of me! That will boost up more of my self-esteem! :)

Sacramento World & Music Festival

Greg's company Delegata is a premier sponsor of the Sacramento World & Music Festival, with that being said we got a free ticket and a VIP coupons. We sat close to the stage, and the show was spectacular. There are 11 performers on that night including the Philippines. I am very proud to see my fellow kababayan performing. Akesha was actually doing great! She did not cry or get cranky during the show, she enjoyed the show as much as we did. It was fun! Cameras are not allowed during the show, so I was not able to take photos.

It's Good To Be Back!

Dreamscapes!

It's been one month and a half since we moved in to our new place. Things went out great. We enjoyed living here, and there are much of things that I can do (gardening). I mentioned before that I want to do some landscaping on our back/side yard. I mostly did take off the weeds and some of the stubborn roots. I cultivated the soil to make it soft and I sprinkled some of the sod seeds. My husband already set up the fence on the side part of my garden few days ago, and I am planning to paint it. I want the fence to separates the side garden from the backyard, because I want the side garden to be a private space. I also plan to put up a water fountain or something. I don't have a theme yet. I am on the stage of searching and incorporating some ideas from the web and magazines.
Today, we went to Home Depot to get some bricks. I want to put the bricks for the edges, I hope I picked the right kind. I will start to put it on tomorrow. I am scarred if I mess up because we bought plenty of them. :)
My ideal garden.

Memory Foam Mattress

How long do you have you had your mattress? Don't you think it's the right time for you to change it? Are you tired of waking up with a stiff neck or sore back? Don't worry because I have the perfect place for you to go. Visit Overmatress.com for a wide selection of mattress. Overnight Mattress is a memory foam mattress manufacturear who sells direct to the public. They have the best deal ever and they offer the best value and service. Memory foam mattresses do not wear out easily compared to the life of a traditional mattress. They are made of a heavier and more dense material, reduce and eliminate pressure points because they conform to the shape of your body. For Manniecar Dagpin Senillo, marrying "a Western man" was a transaction, a tool to improve her life and that of her family in the Philippines.
And that's what the 25-year-old woman said she and her Canadian husband, businessman George Spiller, had agreed on when they met two years ago on an Internet website popular with Filipinas looking for men in the West.
Senillo said she vowed to look after him as a housewife; Spiller promised he would financially support her and her family back home.
After half a year of phone and email correspondence, the couple wed in November 2006 on Spiller's first visit to the Philippines.
Despite a 32-year age gap and, according to Senillo, disapproval from his Toronto family, Spiller sponsored her. She joined him in Calgary in August 2007. But her dream for a new life was short-lived.
Spiller, 56, died of alcohol poisoning a month later. Although foul play was not suspected, the widow is now being accused by Spiller's family of entering a marriage of convenience and may have her permanent resident status revoked and be sent back to her impoverished homeland.
Senillo says the complaint against her to Immigration Canada stems from her having left Spiller's Calgary home just before his death and not attending his funeral. In addition, she applied for all her Canadian ID in the Toronto area with help of an aunt and uncle, instead of through her residence in Calgary.
In February, months after her husband's sudden death, Citizenship and Immigration Canada told Senillo, who now lives with her aunt in Whitby, that she was under investigation.
At issue is whether she was in a genuine relationship.
The letter from the immigration department said: "It has been alleged that you misrepresented yourself to Mr. Spiller and entered into marriage with no intention of residing with Mr. Spiller."
Immigration Canada cannot comment on the case, but spokesperson Danielle Norris said Canadian sponsors can complain to border security or immigration officials if the sponsored spouses have left them and they feel the other parties have committed fraud. Third parties can also initiate such complaints.
"These are very difficult cases to investigate as it is hard to prove that the sponsoree committed fraud and did not leave the sponsor for another reason," Norris noted.
Spiller's family also declined to comment.
"We cannot comment about anything as immigration is looking into whatever is necessary when circumstances such as these arise," one of Spiller's two sisters, who asked not to be identified, said in an email.
Senillo said she left for Whitby shortly before Spiller's business partner found his body on Sept. 14, 2007, with an empty bottle of Everclear alcohol beside him.
She said she had become afraid of her husband, who turned into a different person after her arrival in Canada, "smoking and being drunk all the time."
"It is not like we married because we were in love. Marriage is something to improve life for my family. I liked him and felt I could rely on him. And I would take care of him as his wife," said Senillo, whose family received monthly remittances from Spiller up until his death. He once wired them $40,000 to buy a new home in the Philippines.
"But I knew little about him," admitted Senillo, who used to be a waitress and now works at a fast-food chain.
She said it wasn't until she saw an obituary by Spiller's family that she learned her husband had two sons from an earlier marriage. A coroner's report later revealed his history of "chronic ethanol abuse, smoking, hypertension and depression," something Senillo said she was not aware of.
Immigration officials called Senillo in for an interview in July. The immigration hearings division is currently reviewing her case. A decision is pending.
A Status of Women Canada report has documented the emerging number of Filipina "mail-order brides" brought to Canada since the 1990s. It is estimated several thousand Filipina brides now live in Canada.
Senillo's aunt, Janeth, and uncle, Tom Werry, insisted their niece entered the marriage in good faith. Werry said he paid for his distraught niece's airfare to come to Whitby after learning of Spiller's drinking problem. The separation was not intended to be permanent, he added.
Werry also reported his niece's reasons for leaving Calgary to the RCMP and to Calgary police; he said he was concerned about her immigration status upon leaving her husband. He said Senillo didn't have the money to fly back to Calgary for Spiller's funeral.
"This is hard for Canadians to understand," said Janeth, 31, who met her 62-year-old Canadian husband on the Internet in 2001 and decided to marry him after a two-week courtship.
"We don't look for romantic love. We only hope we can help our family. And we do keep our promise and do everything we can to serve and respect our husbands."
In Spiller's will, dated March of last year, Senillo was named the beneficiary of the deceased's life insurance policies, registered retirement and pension plans. It is currently being handled by the executor, one of Spiller's friends.

Better Luck Next Time!

I was frustrated this morning, because when I opened my PPP account I saw few opportunities available for me, but then when I tried to click all of them it says "Sorry, but you do not meet the opportunity requirements." . The two of them were yellow green and one is white. So, I was expected that I can take those opportunities because of the color code. Nay, I kept refreshing the page until I got bored and took a nap. hahahha....:) The other one is still there but it has the same issue, I am not qualified though the color code says "Featured Opportunity is Available to You" . I have no idea why it does that all the time. Well, better luck next time! :)

Welcome Back!

The war in Iraq is still going on. I don't think that this war will end pretty soon. Just yesterday a female suicide bomber in Baghdad killed 22 people and 33 wounded people. I am very proud to the troops who are in Iraq right now.
Yesterday, our family friends who are sent to Iraq 4 months ago came home. I can't even imagine if Greg will be sent to Iraq for 4 months, that will be my biggest nightmare. I will be devastated all the time. I just hope and pray that he will not going there.
Anyway,It was 2 weeks ago we found out that our friends is coming home. We are so excited and grateful that they are coming home safe. We bought something for them as a token of appreciation. Last Sunday, we were looking for a welcome back balloon all over the place, but we can't find one. It was Greg's idea to get them a plant. So we bought plants for them, and I decorated the pots to look good. But then I was thinking (last minute) that plant (rose) is kind of gayish or something. So we ended up getting 2 bottles of champagne. And I got to keep the plants instead. I thought that was a perfect welcome present for them. So,
we went to the Airport yesterday to see them. Both of their families where there, friends, and some of the Air Force officials. It was good to see them back, and we are very proud of them. It was a job well done!
