I Seriously Need to Lose Weight

Since I gave birth I noticed that I gained so much weight. I tried many ways to shed pounds, but that did not work out very well. I feel very uncomfortable of my body because I can no longer wear the clothes I have before I was pregnant. I know that exercise and diet is the best way to lose weight, but I am too lazy to do it. I found another option to lose weight. I read this article online about detox diet, and it is a brand new very talked-about natural supplement. It is called Acai Detox Xtreme.  If you are interested about this new natural supplement and would like to use it, you can try it for FREE! I might need to get one too!

Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan

There is a new law that says all Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans, swppp, for construction jobs with a new Notice of Intent need to be prepared by a licensed civil engineer or someone with similar credentials by July 1st, 2010. The swppp Orange County plan emphasizes proper use of barriers to keep the rain water from picking up excessive amounts of sediment. The ACG is a licensed contractor with the qualifications for implementing these plans. It is important to keep dirt, silt, and chemicals out of the sewer system and the ACG can help achieve that. You should visit the Advanced Civil Group’s website to see how they can help.

For the Love of Music

If you are into music like I am, you might be interested in this article called, “What is the connection between the Internet and music distribution”. The Internet allows for different ways to distribute music. If you are an unsigned band, you can get exposure by using the Internet. One example, discussed in the article, is how Artic Monkeys songs were circulated on the net by fans. These fans ripped the music off from demo CDs given away at gigs. However, the fans gave the band recognition and hype so they eventually got signed with the record label Domino. Musicians are able to bypass the music industry since the rise of “DIY” culture in the late 1970s. However, it is still important to use the traditional industrial mechanism if want wants to make a living through making music. If you are interested in music, you should read this article. One of the new articles on this website is about breast cancer and is called, “If a man stops loving you because of your breast cancer”. They have a lot of other great articles that you might be interested in reading as well. So if you are looking for a great website with great articles, you should checkout this website today.

The 50th Wedding Ceremony

Today it is very rare to see two people giving their hearts to each other, unconditionally. I think that's what true love really is. It's not this fairytale life that never knows pain, but it's two souls facing it together and diminishing it with unconditional love.

I just want to get the message across to my grandparents as to how much they mean to us all and that their could never be anyone anywhere more precious to us than them. They are just the kind of parents/grandparents that my friends would tell me they wished they had, even if they were strict with us as we grew up. No matter what their kids got into, they never turned their back on them. Even after all their kids got married and moved out, my grandparents still make sure they're all fine. Despite the roller coaster ride on their marriage, the story of my grandparent's union is a proof that sacrifice, commitment, and love will indeed go a long long way.

Here's a slideshow for yah! You can also visit my Facebook photo album to view some of the photos. Thanks!

The Craft of Close-Up Photography

Since I love photography, I wanted to share with you this cool article from this website title, “Playing with light when taking a photo outside your home”. The article is discussing some techniques with lighting when taking pictures. Your camera’s auto-exposure feature is basically an educated guess based on statistics. The article goes on to say that the DSLR gives you instant results that film cameras lack. You can use it to examine the results and add or subtract the exposure settings to shift the way the image is recorded. If you love photography, you should read this article. There is another article about photography that you might be interested in as well called, “Learning the Craft of Closeup Photography”. This article can give you information on learning the techniques that increases our ability to get quality close-ups. The first rule, of course, is to make sure your camera is as steady as possible. Another thing you should do is to adjust the way light enters the scene which you should control. You also need to look for subjects in a defined space like a yard or meadow because this will improve your ability to see picture possibilities. If you love photography as much as I do, you should read these articles to get some good information.

Tiger Barb

When we went to the Philippines last month, we left our pets to my SIL. She took care of the fish and Buddy, but when we got home from our trip we found out that 4 of the fish were dead....:( huhuhu! I was a little bit upset when I found out about it. I don't know what happened to the fish. I'm guessing that the kids overfeed them....lol! I've been taking care of those fish for over a year now...too bad they did not last long. So the day after we picked up the pets from my SIL's house, we decided to get some new fish at Walmart.

Since this year is the year of the Tiger, I suggested to hubby to get a Tiger Barb fish. I hope this fish will bring us luck this year....:) The Tiger Barb has a reputation as a fin-nipper and should not be kept with slow-moving fish with long finnage such as gouramis. It is less likely to harass other fish when it is kept in a group; it may feel more secure that way, or it may simply be focusing its attention on the other members of the school.

While shopping for fish, I went to Cosmetics section and noticed that the store displays new cosmetic brands on a uniform display wall referred to as its millennium fixture. I thought it's interesting.

Valentine's Day Celebration

How's your Valentine's day celebration folks? Our simple celebration went fine. I got flowers and a valentine gift from hubby and Akesha. Then we went to eat dinner at "Fresh Choice" and went back home to watch a movie. I think that's about it! How's yours?

I Want Nobody Nobody But You!

They had a blast! This is the scenario at my grandparents house after hubby handed out the toys to my little cousins!

BTW, are you familiar with the song "Nobody"? The first time I heard about this song is when I was in the Philippines. Gosh, it is being played in the radio over and over again, and it seems like everybody knows about the song. The single was a hit and reached number one on various Korean television and internet music charts. The choreography for the song was simple and widely imitated. The dance became so popular it was known as the "Tell Me Virus" and earned them the title of 'Korea's Little Sisters'. Videos of the dance came from fans in France and the Philippines, and the song also went to Number 1 in Thailand.

Speaking of which, here's a video of Akesha dancing "Nobody" with her titos and tita. Apparently, Akesha never heard of this song before...no wonder why she's all over the place and look confused...lol! Sorry for the poor quality of the video.

I sent this video to my Aunt in the Philippines, but until now she did not get it in her email. I wonder why she did not receive it. I think she needs a new email host provider.

Quick trip to see snow today...

How's your weekend so far? Today, we had a quick trip to see snow. Yes! Sacramento is just too low and warm for snowfall most of the time. For us to be able to see snow, we need to take a two or three-hour drive to the mountains. It's been a long time since our last trip to the snow...a couple of years maybe...:) I brought my snow gear with me, but I did not use it and I did not even put my gloves on. Actually, I saw other people wearing a shirt...waaaaaaaaa! It was sunny when we went there and I think the snow is starting to melt down.

Our pre-Valentine's date as a family

Just me and Akesha

trying to build a snow castle....

weeeeeeeee...move away!...I'm coming through.....weeeeeee!
I did not realize that this is a 3-day weekend! I am planning to go to the mall tomorrow and look for Dining Room Tables. I've been longing to get a new one.

50th Wedding Rehearsal

In today's society, a ten-year marriage seems like an accomplishment for most people. Considering the high divorce rates, particularly in the United States. Actually reaching your 50th wedding anniversary seems to be an even greater accomplishment than winning a mega sweepstakes.

Here are some photos during the 50th wedding rehearsal. It is good to know that everybody in the family took a very special care in planning the party even if it was a simple one. The 3 great-grandchildren are one of the highlights of the ceremony. A bible bearer, a ring bearer and a flower girl.

The original plan of my grandparents was to renew their vows in the church, but there's a slight problem....the cost of the priest to officiate the ceremony is too expensive...waaaa...I thought it's FREE...lol! So I volunteered Greg instead.

I might need to check the sync program tonight. This program allows you to replace old files with new ones. Btw, here's my Ma and Pa...they just finished blowing up the balloons....:)

Akesha's 2nd Trip to the PI

Sorry for the slow update folks...it's just that things seem to feel a little bit different for me (jetlag and lazy-bug)...I am trying my best to visit your blog soon!
It was on the 12th of January when we arrived in Mactan International Airport, Philippines. We slept at the airport and waited for a few hours to catch another flight to Cagayan de Oro. It was an exhausting flight ever! It took us 5 rough flights from Sacramento to Cagayan de Oro. Glad we made it!
We arrived in CDO at 7am and headed to my younger bro's little domain. My mom and dad fetched us at the airport and bought Akesha a cake. It was so sweet of them. Akesha had a blast on her second trip to the Philippines. More updates soon!
Akesha and her Lolo...showing off her cake! Also, Akesha got a Cebu shirt from her tito (my lil bro).

We're Home...Finally!

My goodness gracious! What a relief. Just a note to let you know we made it home safely. How is everybody?
It has been 21 days since I posted on my blog and this is the first update since I was gone....wow that long? Anyhow, our trip to the Philippines was quite interesting. Greg, Akesha and I got SICK! We actually rushed Akesha to the hospital a week before we left the PI. She had a high fever and cough. A couple of days after, Greg and I got a flu. What a bummer! We suppose to do some extra curricular activities during our last week in the Philippines, but it seems like things do not always go as planned. I am glad we did not get sick during my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary.

I apologize to my friends and co-workers because we did not get a chance to get together. Sorry guys!

I would like to thank my parents for all their help with our accommodation (food, lodging, and transfer) and shopping spree. Salamat Mama and Papa!

I also would like to thank Mami Lu for helping me out on my kitchen blog. Thanks dearest for maintaining my Savour D' Flavour blog while I was gone. Thanks to Tsang Shy for keeping an eye of my main blog. Thanks to Manang Rose for sending the Soft Hugwear Neck Pillow, it really helps during our trip. And of course....to all my visitors, friends and readers...thank you guys for dropping by!

I miss you all. I am looking forward to visit your blog as soon as I get over with this freak'n jet lag and annoying cough.
