Snowdrop Flowers

Are you familiar with snowdrop flowers? The snowdrop flower, or Galanthus nivalis, is a member of the Amaryllidaceae family of plants that originated in Europe and grow in various parts of North America. The bulb of the snowdrop flower is mildly toxic, according to North Carolina State University.
We have plenty of snowdrop flowers at our backyard and my daughter loves sniffing at them. Some people believe that snowdrops symbolize new beginnings and hope because they typically bloom at the end of winter and announce the approach of spring. Growing close to the ground, they also represent death. Picking snowdrops and bringing them inside is considered unlucky.

The Best Flowers For Spring

Choosing the best flowers for spring can be difficult and it is often confusing. Perhaps the most effective way to ensure spring flowers that bloom each year is to plant bulbs in the fall to mid-winter. There are of course flowering plants that you can purchase from your local nursery, but you will want to make sure any chance of freezing weather has passed before planting and in many areas of the country, spring does not arrive until late in the season and by that time you will want to plants flowers in anticipation of summer. You always have the option of purchasing bulbs that have been grown in pots over the winter and are in stock in most garden centers beginning in the late winter months. Here are a few choices of flowering plants that are suitable to plant now and will produce early spring flower:

Rock of LOVE!

It is that time again when hubby's drill weekend (Air Force duty) falls every first weekend of the month. So this weekend Akesha and I will stay at home as usual. Earlier I spent most of my day cleaning Akesha's room, and get rid off her winter and old clothes. Most of her old clothes will go to charity.
When hubby came home from Air Force Base, he surprises me with a ROCK! Yes a ROCK!....hahhaha....he said "Honey I got you something for your garden...hope you'll like it" hahhaha...I thought he just found it somewhere and brought it home. He actually bought it from the base. .. it is cute though.
I also got flowers from him. Thanks a lot hon. That was very nice and sweet of you! So this will be my flowers for this month.

Have a great weekend folks! Good day/night!

Thanks Honey!

How's your weekend so far guys? Our weekend is kind of a bit boring because we just stayed at home. Well on the bright side...the less time you go out..the less money you'll spend, am I right? hhehehhe....Actually, it is hubby's drill weekend again in the Air Force. This drill weekend only happen in every first weekend of the month, so it is not really a big deal.

I was not able to bloghop yesterday because I was very exhausted from shampooing the carpet. Yep! I shampooed our carpet. I thought it is cheaper when you do it yourself than hiring someone to do the job. It took me forever to finished the whole labor job.

When hubby came home from the base yesterday, he surprises me with flowers. Thanks a lot hon! That was very sweet and thoughtful of you. I know you know how I love flowers every month....heheheh!

Flowers For Sale

These photos were taken 2 years ago at Half Moon Bay. While we're driving on our way home we stopped at this huge garden store, and bought some flowers and plants for my garden. I was amazed how huge the place is. It took me 45 minutes to finished roaming around the place. Apparently, some of the flowers and plants I bought from this place were dead, and I left few of them in our condo ...hhehehe!
