Christmas Movie Fitness Tips

“You better watch out, you probably will cry, you probably shouldn’t shout, and I’m going to tell you why…”
It’s that time of year again where we wrap up the presents, place them under the tree, grab family and friends, and enjoy those special Christmas dinners. Where grandma packs on the mashed potatoes and gravy. But that is not the only thing that will be packed on that day. We are going to be packing on the pounds. It comes every year, that Holiday weight gain. It is hard to control with all the candy canes, cookies, and eggnog that we consume. And soon you’ll be the one watching out for that scale. It will probably make you cry, you might shout and blame yourself, but isn’t there something that can solve this dilemma? Without going through all the hard work of going to the gym or even eating healthy? What a world that would be.

Elf

Let’s start first with your diet during the Christmas season. Obviously, the dream diet would be to stick to the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns, and syrup. Eventually, you will start adding maple syrup to a dish of spaghetti and meatballs. We all know that this is very unhealthy, but occasionally, we can cheat. Buddy the Elf gave us a dream that if we applied into our lives could cause serious health problems.
A beloved scene from the 2003 hit movie, Elf, starring Will Ferrell, depicts Buddy the Elf at the Empire State Building where he walks through revolving doors and finds himself right where he started outside. Then he goes again, and soon he makes it into a game. Running around, and around, until eventually, he throws up. Take this fun and humorous example as a trick to staying healthy. If Buddy the Elf can run around and around in a revolving door, then running a couple miles on treadmills in Pocatello would be fun!
Girl on the Move has created a fun and easy workout where you are interacting with the movie. Check this out!

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

Every Christmas, we tend to get more excited about sledding. That’s right, sledding! It is an incredible activity when you are with friends and family, and it doesn’t cost a cent. Of course, you would need a sled, say like a large bowl and some experimental kitchen lubricant from a chemical company. Let it be known that we are talking about Clark Griswold’s creative sledding method. Watching that scene from National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation made us want to find the nearest kitchen lubricant and try it on our own sled.
When we want to enjoy ourselves while getting a good workout, we can always go to a nearby park with a large hill and take the sled for a ride. We feel a burn, with our winter gear on, as we climb up the snow-covered hill. Plus, a bonus, snowball fights! You’re out and about having fun while still getting exercise!

Another great way to workout while enjoying another classic Christmas movie can be found on He and She EAT CLEAN blog. Give it a look!
