Game room

Guest post written by Carolyn Parker

For years we had considered transforming our attic into a game room and finally decided that we should just go ahead and do it instead of putting it off so we could start enjoying it.
We asked our kids for their input and starting coming up with our decorating plan for it. We knew that we wanted a TV and the kids’ video games systems up there, along with a futon they could use for sleepovers and bean bag chairs.
But we knew that we had to do some structural things before we started decorating, like put in some wiring for all the electronics and replace the windows so it wouldn’t be drafty in the winter or too hot in the summer. We called SEARS home pro Phoenix and got them to replace our windows and hired our friend who’s an electrician to do the wiring.
Then once we started on the actual look of the room, we painted the walls a bright blue, which our sons picked out, and moved everything in it. They already had a sleepover a few weeks ago and now I think I’ll just have to worry about the kids doing their homework.
