He's Turning 10!

Yes, our dog Buddy is turning 10 years old this coming Saturday. I guess we are going to celebrate his birthday on Friday (in advance)!...lol...:) I told Akesha that we are going to make a cake for Buddy, and she was too excited about our plan...lol!

Buddy was 4+-year old when we adopted him from SPCA. He is a half chow and a half collie pooch. Akesha treats him like a big brother/best friend. And it's so sweet seeing them playing together!

Akesha & Buddy, Reunited at Last

When we flew from Sacramento to Texas last Saturday, Buddy didn't come with us. We planned it that way because there's no direct flight from Sacramento to San Antonio. Whereas if he take a cargo plane he will fly directly. So my SIL dropped him off at the Airport last Monday. And we fetched him at 10:30pm. His plane was delayed so we waited for an hour at the airport.

All of us were too excited to see Buddy... especially Akesha. She's been bugging us about Buddy since we arrived here. She kept telling us how she misses Buddy.

He was in his crate for a few hours...no wonder why he looks exhausted....lol!

Doggy Sitting

Having a pet or pets at home is quite rewarding. Pets are good for your health, apparently. A cuddly cat, a loving dog: Some people are so attached to their pets you'd think they were part of the family. Well, as any pet owner will tell you, they are! But unlike relationships with human family members, which can sometimes be difficult and a source of stress, owning a pet can significantly improve overall health and reduce risk of disease.
When I moved here in the US from the Philippines four years ago, hubby and I bought a 3 year old half chow and half collie dog. And we named him BUDDY. Since we don't have Akesha back then, we treat him like our own son, and we even bring him to the dog parlor once in awhile. When Akesha came from the hospital, Buddy felt like his out of the picture. He maybe got jealous when Akesha arrived in our family, but now he's more than like a big brother to her. He protects Akesha every time we have people come over, or even when the doorbell rings. It is good to see them together playing, and it takes our breath away.
Once a year my sister-in-law take 2 weeks off vacation, and it happens that they owned a dog and nobody can look after their dog while they are gone. So since Monster and Buddy get along very well, she let us take care of Monster. A couple of weeks ago we doggysitted their dog. Akesha was having a great time with Monster, she was fascinated with Monster, and she follows him everywhere.

Meet My Kids! (Beauty & the Beast)

I hope you enjoy the short clip....hehhehhehe! These photos were taken in our backyard. Akesha and Buddy are very close. Buddy came first before we had Akesha. It was funny because the first time we brought Akesha home....the hospital gave us one of Akesha's dirty blanket to give it to Buddy. That is how we introduced them to each other. Since then they became best buddies...hehhehe!
