1. Sledding
Have you ever felt the rush of freezing air in your face as you race down a snowy hill? No? Then it’s time to try! Pick up some plastic discs, sleds, or inner tubes at Wal-Mart or a local sports store. Then go on a drive and find a good snow-covered hill to test them out on. If you’re worried about stopping at the end, build up a pile of soft snow to help stop you when you get to the bottom of the hill. There’s nothing like the rush of speeding down a slippery slope and tumbling into a pile of fluffy snow.
2. Build a Snowman
Do you wanna build a snowman? Well, if you’ve never tried this, then find a good place with lots of snow this year to try it out. This is a great family activity. Each person can build their own snowman, or you can make it a collaborative effort to build the largest snowman ever! Even if you just make it out to your front lawn, you’ll be glad that you did it.
3. Cross-country Skiing
Whether you want to try a new winter workout, or simply just try something you’ve never done before, cross-country skiing is the way to go. It’s a great activity for beginners who have never been skiing or snowboarding before. Just make sure you dress in layers, because you will feel the workout and won’t want to be trapped under one hot layer.
If you’re looking for some mountains to escape to, there are plenty of those and other fun things to do in Teton County, Wyoming in the winter.
