5 Thanksgiving DIY Projects to Decorate your Yard

It’s time to take those Halloween decorations down and put the Thanksgiving decorations up. Step aside ghosts, it’s time for the turkeys to shine. It’s time to show your true fall colors with these fun DIY yard decorations provided by an idaho yard services company.

1. Pallet Pumpkins
Yes, pumpkins are still great decorations for Thanksgiving, so give these wood pumpkins a try. All you need is some recycled wood - wood pallets will work great - stain, a saw, and nails. Let the wood worker in the family get to work to make these beautiful decorations for your yard.

2. Giant Wood Tags
Remind everyone what this holiday is all about with these giant wood tags. This is a great front door decoration, or you could even hang them from your mailbox or a post in your yard. Get in the holiday spirit with this decoration and help spread the thankfulness that the season brings.

3. Flower Pots
Plant some fall perennials in a pot to decorate your yard. Place them on the front porch, along the walkway or in line with some cute lawn accessories. Bring your yard to life with some beautiful flowers this Thanksgiving, especially if you live where the weather stays above freezing temperatures.

4. Scarecrow
Make a scarecrow to give your yard the perfect Thanksgiving touch. Bring in the fall colors and straw, you could even use a pumpkin for the head. To give it more of a holiday twist, place some cute yard turkeys around it (see below).

5. Yard Turkey
What’s more festive than a Thanksgiving turkey? Use recycled wood pallets to make this fun little project. This idea came from an Etsy project, but you could easily make your own if you are handy with a hammer and nails.
