Summer Pool Party Must-Haves

If you are planning to throw a pool party or two this summer, then you definitely should add the following things to your list of must-haves for the big day. By taking stock of what you need and what you do not need before the big event, you will be on your way to throwing a great pool party.
Great Music For Your Pool Party
A pool party would just not be a successful pool party without music, so this is definitely at the list of things you must have on hand for your pool party. The type of music you should choose will depend on who is invited to the party, so keep that in mind when choosing music to play. If you are inviting people from different age groups, then you should plan to play music for all of the age groups. Whether you are interested in compiling the music yourself or buying one or more compilations CDs, you have options. By creating a music play list or buying a compilation CD for your party, music will play uninterrupted all day.
Lawn Chairs, Additional Seating, Tables and Outdoor Lighting
When throwing a pool party, you want to make the surroundings as comfortable for everyone. If you are inviting a large group of people, then you will definitely need to make sure you have enough seating for everyone. In addition, you should also make sure you have enough tables that people can put their food and drinks down on too. Although most guests will spend a lot of time in the pool, many people who come to a pool party like to sit and lounge around all day. A pool party just isn't a pool party without lounge chairs, so that is why it is important to make certain you have enough lawn chairs, regular chairs and tables on hand for all of your guests to relax on all day and night.

In addition to seating and tables, you want to make sure that you have adequate outdoor lighting. Although most people plan pool parties during the day, they often end very late at night. If your backyard is not well lit, then you need to make certain that you install adequate lighting for your guests. Not having enough lighting in your backyard can have an impact on a pool party, so if you need lighting make certain you put in some spotlights that will light up your pool and backyard at night.
Inflatable Pool Toys, Games and Accessories
One of the most important things that everyone puts on their list of things to buy for pool parties are inflatable pool toys. balls, lounge chairs and games. By purchasing inflatable beach balls, pool toys, lounge inflatable pool chairs, tubes and other popular pool accessories, your guests are certain to have a lot of fun. In addition to these items, you may want to purchase a water volleyball or tennis net, so your guests can have some extra fun playing a game or two of water volleyball.
The Perfect Food and Drinks For Your Pool Party
A pool party just isn't a pool party without food and drinks. After splashing around in the pool for a couple of hours, your guests will definitely build up an appetite and want some refreshing cool drinks. To make sure everyone has a great time, you should definitely plan to have both food and drinks on hand. If you own a barbecue grill, then you should think about having a barbecue, but if you do not have a barbecue then you should definitely make certain you have different types of finger foods on hand for your guests to enjoy.
Towels and Other Accessories For Your Guests
To throw a successful pool party, you have to make certain that your guests are comfortable. Before the big day, you should plan to buy lots of towels and other accessories that your guests can use to dry off throughout the day. In addition to providing towels, you may want to offer guests shampoo, conditioner and soap if they will be taking a shower before they head home. By having enough clean towels on hand, you will have the added reassurance that your guests will always be comfortable.

If you will be throwing one or more pool parties this year, then you definitely want to make certain that you add all of the must-have items discussed above on hand. By taking stock of what you need before the big day, you will be on your way to throwing a fun pool party that your guests will enjoy.

Boy! Don't I wish to plan a pool party if only we have a pool in our yard. LOL! Definitely good music, food and drinks for me. Ah! This reminds me I need to make a list of things I would need for my little man's birthday this August. Although ours won't be a pool party, but I hope we can have it in our backyard.
