Lavigne, 24, cited the standard reason of irreconcilable differences and said that their property rights are to be determined, according to the Superior Court papers filed Friday.
Lavigne and the 29-year-old musician for Sum 41 were married for three years. They announced their separation last month. Earlier this month, Whibley was spotted getting close with model/designer Hanna Beth Merjos in Las Vegas.
