Silent Ranks for the Military Wife

Last month hubby was one of the emcees during his best friend's retirement ceremony in the Air Force, while he was practicing at home he got choked up while reading this poem. This poem is dedicated to all the silent ranks.
The Silent Ranks
Author: Unknown

I wear no uniforms, no blues or army greens
But I am in the Army in the ranks rarely seen
I have no rank upon my shoulders - salutes I do not give
But the military world is the place where I live
I'm not in the chain of command, orders I do not get
But my husband is the one who does, this I can not forget
I'm not the one who fires the weapon, who puts my life on the line
But my job is just as tough. I'm the one that's left behind
My husband is a patriot, a brave and prideful man
And the call to serve his country not all can understand
Behind the lines I see the things needed to keep this country free
My husband makes the sacrifice, but so do our kids and me
I love the man I married, Soldiering is his life
But I stand among the silent ranks known as the Army Wife.

Since I love hats, hubby got an Air Force Wife hat for me few months ago.

That is very touching! yes we are part of military life and we are the strength of our husband without us they fall a part. my hubby is always thankful for me. For being strong and keeping our family stronger and safe while he's gone. he told me how proud he was of what I can do and become while he's far away. i can't even believed how we managed to survived during those long 15 months. I guess nothing is impossible when you have faith and believed that everything will be fine with the help of our God Almighty! I salute all the military men who sacrificed for our freedom and as an Army wife, supporting my husband is all I can do.

They say that behind the success of every man is a woman and as this poem reveal, behind the success of every soldier is his wife and kids who keep the family lamp burning while he is away. We salute all the women behind our brave soldiers. They are the silent heroes of every nation. Thanks for the post. God bless you always.
