Out of Town

How are you guys doing? I hope y'all had a fantastic weekend. Our 3-day holiday weekend was quiet a busy one. I know I owe you a visit, but don't worry I get back to you soon. Thanks for dropping by though.
"Papa, wait for meeeee!"
Anyhow, we went out of town last Saturday morning and drove a couple of hours to get to the train station near Austin.
It was a whole day big event. The steam train ride was a 4 hour journey through the Texas Hill Country to Burnet.
One of the highlights during the trip was the Burnet Gunfighter. A wild west gunfight kind of show. Honestly, I was not too impressed with their acting...lol!
The whole trip was great and very relaxing. We are hoping to do it again next time.

At the Park

We had a busy day today! After Akesha's study session, I decided to drive her to the park. She's been whining about going there lately. When we arrived at the park, she was surprised because the place was empty. She thought she could play with other kids. Well, it was my fault because I took her during midday.
She had fun even though she's playing by herself. I played with her a little bit, and read my book in the corner..lol! It was hot!

Mixbook Photobook Product Review

I am very happy that I was given the opportunity to review a complimentary 20 page 11×8.5 hardcover photo book to enjoy from Mixbook.com. This website offers both hardcover and softcover books in 7 sizes ranging from 6x4 to 14x11.
I chose one of the premade themes from Mixbook to use to create my book. Making the digital book was very easy. I simply chose the photos I wanted to use and loaded them into the Mixbook "Create Your Mixbook" section. I was impressed to find that everything in the book was completely 100% customizable from the background, frames, text, stickers, and more!
Overall, I’m so happy with the way it turned out and I was very pleased with how easy it was to make a digital photobook.

Construction Job Opportunities

Have you tried posting a job online or getting a job in an online job listing website? In what particular website was it? Have you succeeded in finding the right person or a professional for the job you posted for? Were you successful on getting a lead for a job you were looking for? I’ve seen numbers of websites that offer job posting or job opportunities. For some job posters, for sure they have caught a perfect man to complete the job they listed while some have only just experienced disappointment. For job seekers, for sure some of them landed on a good job they’ve been looking for online.

It is so hard to find a job nowadays due to the turndown of economy. That sure is one reason why most businesses are laying off workers everyday. More likely, there is competition in every job posted on and offline. One example is the construction industry. One successful way to land on a job in that industry successfully is to find construction leads for it can help you track down ongoing projects. One site that I came across to a while ago is www.hire-a-pro.com that offers free constriction leads and various job opportunities.

Beat the Heat!

How are you guys all doing?! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. The weather here has been scorching hot lately, and it's high as 92-100 degrees. And it's not even summer yet! Well, it rains in Texas during summer times...:)
We didn't know Akesha took us a picture while setting up the pool.
Our weekend was great! We took Akesha to the mall last Saturday, after that we went to Homedepot to get some plants and gardening stuff. Sunday was super hot! After church we stopped by at our local grocery store to get an inflatable swimming pool.
Akesha broke her other inflatable pool, so we decided to get a bigger one for the whole family. It almost took the whole space of our deck.
We had  fun swimming and BBQ-ing. How about you? How's your weekend went?

Happy Armed Forces Day!

I would like to salute my FIL, my nephew, my beloved husband, and to all the members of the military, Happy Armed Forces Day!
In the United States, Armed Forces Day is celebrated on the third Saturday in May.
The day was created in 1949 to honor Americans serving in the five U.S. military branches – the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard – following the consolidation of the military services in the Department of Defense. It was intended to replace the separate Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard Days, but the separate days are still observed, especially within the respective services.
Thank you for your service!

C.A.S.A

No, it's not about the saying "Mi casa es su casa"...lol! CASA stands for Christian Academy of San Antonio. This charter school is one of the most prestigious Christian school you can find here in San Antonio.
Anyway, months ago we applied our daughter to this institution. Akesha took the entrance exam a couple of weeks ago, and got the results last Monday. So we met up with the elementary principal regarding her entrance exam test results. And thank goodness, she got accepted!
waiting area...pretty soon, this will be my spot.
Hubby and I were so happy about the good news. Akesha's school starts on the first week of August. She's pretty excited going to school!

Some Blues...

How's your weekend everyone? I hope ya'll have a good one! Our weekend went fine. We spent most of our weekend at home working at our backyard. Some gardening and landscaping improvements.
After we got home from church,  I decided to clean up our house a little bit. Well, not the whole section of the house...lol!
While I was cleaning and dusted off my figurines, I realized that I have some blues in my collection.
Perfect for my Blue Monday entry!

Mother's Day Celebration

Howdy pardner! How's your weekend everyone? I hope y'all had a good one. How about you mommies? How's your mother's day celebration?
I had a simple yet a fabulous mother's day celebration. Last Sunday morning, I woke up hearing hubby and daughter's loud voices singing "Happy Mother's day to you". It was funny hearing them together singing. I received flowers, cards, and perfume from them. Thanks hon and Akesh!
Thanks to mamiLu for the dress that Akesha was wearing.
My mother's day treat was: Movie and Italian dinner. We watched "HOP" and had a wonderful dinner at Carinos.
I had a fantastic mother's day celebration. How about you?

Post Spring Cleaning

Spring cleaning doesn't need to be exactly on the first day of Spring. Right? You don't have to wait till spring to start your spring cleaning. You can do this any time of year, one room at a time. That's what I've been doing lately. Actually, I started organizing my messy closet before spring, but due to time constraints I wasn't able to manage my time.
looks ok now!
Welcome to may walk-in closet. I called it the "right wing side"...lol! Hubby and I joke each other about the size of our closets. He always said that my closet is 3 times bigger than his...lol!

Some of the highlights were native costumes, diverse music and dance, international foods, military displays, and more.

Switch to Nutrish!

This post brought to you by Nutrish. All opinions are 100% mine.
My dog was given the chance to try out the new Rachael Ray Nutrish just 6 dry dog food free sample, and he loved it. We love our dog and want to feed him only the best dog food. The great thing about Rachael Ray Nutrish just 6 dry dog food is that it has only six simple natural ingredients that include vitamins and minerals. This will give my dog the complete and balanced nutrition that he deserves. This product doesn't include corn, wheat or soy either so my dog won't get sick. We had this dog food next to my dogs normal dog food, and he ate Rachael Ray's dog food first. He loved it and and wanted more. There are many types of dog foods that my dog gets sick from, but not Rachael Ray's dog food. This nutritionist dog food provides a complete and balanced diet for my dog and doesn't make him sick. You can visit the nutrishforpets.com website to order the product for yourself. You should try the dog food for free and see how much your dog would love it. Another great thing about getting this dog food for your dog is that it helps animals that are in need through the Rachael's Rescue organization. So not only do you get a great dog food for your dog, you also help other animals that need help.
