Honestly, you don't need to have a DSLR to be a good photographer, and having one doesn't automatically make you take better photos. Also, you don't need the DSLR to take good pictures. However, the flexibility sure can help. Take for example this grandeur sunset I took yesterday from our room window.
Not bad for a canon point and shoot camera right? I was going to use my DSLR camera yesterday, but I found out it needs to be charged. So instead I used my handy dandy point and shoot camera. I am very pleased with the outcome.
This is my entry for this week's Skywatch Friday.
This photo is awesome. I And you are blessed that you have this view from your very own room.
ReplyDeleteI am hoping to have a DSLR, I like the effect. But I am already thankful that I have a point and shoot canon which I can use everyday :)
I hope you can also visit my Skywatch Friday entry :)
Have a blessed week.
Love the sunset,it's very gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteit's a gorgeous sunset. I have a point and shoot and dream of owning a dslr, but it isn't going to happen anytime soon so I'm happy with what I've got. you're right, they're handy and they'll do in a pinch! happy SWF!
ReplyDeleteMarvelous sunset! The skies so aglow in colors!
ReplyDeleteFantastic shot, the outcome really looks beautiful you;ve done well.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous sunset shot. The colors in the sky are amazing.
ReplyDeletegorgeous!
ReplyDeletewhat a pretty scene. As what I've learned from my photographer husband. The best shot usually takes place before sunrise and before sunset if it involves like mountains, clouds, etc.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous sunset! And you saw this from your room? Woow...
ReplyDeleteI never use DSLR since I don't have it yet, hehehe...

Your sky is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHappy sky watching!
My entry.
I think along similar lines. If somebody is a great photographer they can take great photographs with any camera. If you give them a great camera they'll will take even better photographs. But the main thing is the eye, and you have that.
ReplyDeleteMe, I am pretty happy with my Canon point and shoot. Maybe something better later. Maybe.
I, too have a DSLR and a simple digital one. I prefer DSLR most of the time. But just like you, when the battery runs out without noticing it, it's always handy to have a simple digi-cam on the side.

ReplyDeleteGreat shot! I agree, a good camera is a nice thing to have, but it's the photographer's perspective that makes a great photo.

When I took my photography class, the instructor told us that point and shoot cameras are just getting better and better. I love mine, and hardly ever use the "big" camera any more.
