Souvenirs from Jamaica

I always love collecting souvenirs. So every time we travel, I always bring home something no matter how big or small the item is.
I have collected quite a few souvenirs already, but my favorites are shot glasses and shirts.
Here are some souvenirs we bought during our visit to Jamaica. Shirts, fridge magnet, a shot glass, jamaican earrings, anklet, and of course...bottles of Rum! Appleton rum is really good.
After a quick souvenir shopping spree, we headed back to the ship and had a sumptuous dinner. We were kind of exhausted that day, so we decided to hang out at the deck near the pool area.
How about you? Do you like to collect souvenirs too?

Affordable Shoes for Women

Looking stylish does not mean spending a lot of money on designer clothes. One of the biggest misconceptions about being fashionable is that only those that have money to buy the trendiest clothes can look stylish. Being fashionable even when on a budget is possible. You just have to know how to put together different clothing items and accessories that can help you achieve the look that you want to create. It is also important that you know where you can shop for clothes and accessories at discounted prices. A wholesale retailer, a garage sale nearby and even an online store can be an excellent source of affordable clothing items. If you need to buy stylish shoes that can match your outfit, then you need to find a retailer that offers cheap women’s shoes. Look for coupon codes if you intend to buy from an online shoe retailer. You will be able to get huge savings if you know where to shop for cheap but stylish clothes and accessories.

OASAP Navy Blue Striped Dress

FASHION is one of my PASSIONS. As a "wanna be fashionista", I'm always on the lookout for good deals on the latest fashion trends and outfit ideas. Fashion trends that won't break my wallet. Recently, I became a "Fashion Blogger" for OASAP. OASAP is a global online store dedicated to high-street fashion by offering various kinds of women’s apparel, bags, shoes, jewellery, accessories, beauty products and many more.
Being a "Fashion Blogger" member, I was given the opportunity to shop for an item that I would like to receive for review. It took me hours to figure out which dress I should pick. After browsing a hundred times, I finally found the dress that I fell in love with. It's a Navy Blue Striped Dress. The fabric is made of chiffon, featuring a V-neck, sleeveless styling, all over stripes to upper part, bound waist, and above the knee length cut.
I love to accessorize and mix and match my wardrobe. I started pairing it with brown gladiator heels and a large ivory belt.
Since I'm a cowgirl at heart, pairing it with a red skinny belt and red cowboy boots was not a bad idea. After all, wearing dresses with cowboy boots is pretty normal here in Texas. One thing I love about this dress is that it's suitable for both formal and casual occasions.
Here are some of my faves:

Jamaica Part 2 | Appleton Rum Tour

Continuation of Part 1...
After a few twists and turns along the narrow road of Jamaica, we finally reached our destination: Appleton Estate Rum Plantation. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the staff and was directed to the mini bar right away.
Apple juice?! Nope, it's Rum baby! Paired with sugar cane chunks.
We're not alcoholic couple, but we take a sip every once in awhile. And we're not irresponsible parents either. Daughter is not drinking rum in this picture...lol! She's enjoying a cup of cranberry juice served specially for her.
Appleton Rum Bar Display
I'm always proud of my little girl. She's been a great traveler ever since she was born. Plus, taking photos is something she's always up for...lol!
The actual tour started HERE:
There are two old sugar cane crushers that are still shown to visitors and a demonstration with a donkey on how they use to operate the cane crushers.
Here's Pax, the donkey and his master showing us how cane juice was extracted in the 18th century. Daughter was very fascinated by the donkey extracting the sugar cane, she even gave him a pat on the back...lol!
See these large white oak rum barrels? Boy, they're pretty expensive. The aging process varies from three years up to fifty years. Each barrel costs between $3K plus - $46k.
After roaming around the plantation, we headed back to the main office where lunch was served. We got to enjoy some Jamaican cuisine! I really love their jerky chicken and rum cake.

Visitors favorite part of the tour is the rum sampling. You'll have the opportunity to sample 12 varieties of produced at the Estate. I got tipsy after trying 4 bottles. Man, 12 samples is crazy!

The whole trip was almost 7 hours long, but it's well worth it. My family and I had a great experience in Jamaica.

Video Conferencing Services

In any legal proceeding, it is important for the legal counsels to be always updated of everything that is happening. They need to have a record of all the important information as well as everything that is being said inside the courtroom. Whenever a witness presents important details of the case and sensitive information are being presented, it is vital for opposing counsels to have a record of them. The strategies that they will employ and how they will handle the case after each proceeding will be based greatly on the information that was acquired during the previous day at court. Nowadays real time court reporting has allowed a smoother flow of information. Compared to previous years when lawyers have to wait for the transcripts, they can instantly have the information they need to make all the necessary changes on their strategy whenever there is a need for it. Those who are not inside the courtroom, such as the other members of the legal team, can receive the text of the proceedings and can instantly challenge a point or information which they believe contradicts what was earlier presented.  Cook and Wiley  can provide the highest level of court reporting that will become an essential part of the cases that are being handled by their clients. They have highly skilled reporters and staff whose vast experience in court reporting will definitely become an asset to their clients.  Video Conferencing  services are also being offered wherein clients are allowed to use a fully equipped conference room that uses the latest technology in video conferencing.

Aluminum Fencing

Home security is priority among most home owners. Knowing that their homes can provide them the safety and security they need is something that homeowners and parents work hard for. Even during the planning stages of home construction, the security of the property is something that is already being considered. Once construction is finished additional home security measures are also being incorporated. One of the most common tools used that provides a sense of security to the property and those inside the home is the fence. A well constructed fence provides many benefits. It serves as a visible mark on property lines and indicates a separation from the neighboring property. It also contains family pets and children playing within the yard. Parents will have the peace of mind knowing that their children will be safe as they play since they are within the boundary of the property and are less likely to say, end up running in the street chasing after a ball.  Fence Me In Richmond  is a company that is dedicated to providing their customers with the kind of fence that they will be satisfied with. They can provide traditional fencing styles or customized fencing styles, whichever their customer prefers. From the design to the installation, the company will provide all the services that their customers need even providing after sale customer service. Richmond Aluminum Fencing  is also provided for those who are looking for alternatives to wood and iron fencing. If you are thinking of installing a fence on our property, then you may consider utilizing their services.

Insulated Concrete Forms

In constructing a home or a commercial building, the materials used in the structure itself is given priority because they will make a huge contribution on how long the structure will last. Builders and contractors are now making environmentally responsible decision of using insulated concrete forms in the homes and commercial buildings that they are building. Insulated concrete forms offer many benefits both to builders and those who will eventually live or use the building. ICF walls are non-toxic and they reduce ail infiltration by 75%. Indoor air pollution has always been a major concern amongst homeowners and ICF has provided them with an alternative that will allow them to have that cleaner air that they deserve. Families that have toddlers and elderly that have sensitive reactions to the quality of air that they breathe indoors will benefit greatly from having ICF in their home. With the many advantages of suing ICF it is no wonder that they have become a popular choice among home builders and owners.

Review | Perky Spotter Plus Stain Remover

Having a dog at home has been a fun and wonderful experience for my family. In fact, it has been so rewarding having our dog around. However, no matter how much we love him, some of that mischief he get into can be a bit annoying. Just like a few days ago, I saw a pile of puke on our carpet. What a nice treat for me! Our dog, Buddy knows what to do when nature calls, but not when nausea strikes.
Honestly, cleaning up vomit is one of my cleaning nightmares specially when it lands on carpet. I'm glad I have a bottle of Perky Spotter Plus Stain Remover and used it to remove the odor and the stain on our carpet. It works wonders! I highly recommend this product to everyone.
With over 35 years of experience making stain removers and carpet cleaning supplies, Perky™ PLUS is perfect for the everyday modern family. Unlike other carpet stain removers that use a spray top to treat the surface of the stain, Perky stain removers fight the source of the stain in the carpet & pad with an advanced squirt top that not only dissolves the stain but also neutralizes odors on contact giving your carpet and fabrics that brand new look and smell.

You should visit their website today to view some of their products. By the way, they were given me a code to share that gives 50% OFF special at www.groomindustries.com for the Perky Plus stain remover! Just use this special promo code 50OFFGRM. So what are you waiting for?

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Baton Girl

I used to be a member of a drum and bugle corps when I was in high school (1996-2000 SY). I started as a flaglet and got transferred to the twirlers team.
At home getting ready for the parade.
Our school's drum and bugle corps has been competing for many years. We won several times and received a few trophies, cash prizes, and awards from different local competitions. Oh, how I miss those skinny days!
During our showdown competition.

P.S Good luck to my baby brother who will be running the 42K marathon race in Cagayan de Oro City this Sunday. We know you can do it! Make us proud lil bro!

Use Your Old or Broken Jewelry to Make New Pieces

Many of us have jewelry boxes full of what we think is garbage we will never use again. Why do we even keep such pieces? Could it be that on some intuitive level we know that one day we might decide to make a project of revamping some of that old jewelry? No matter what the reason is, if you have old jewelry, you might want to consider using some of it to create innovative new pieces. There are many ways you can restore or repair old jewelry, or even transform it into something totally different.

Have Gold Melted Down
Old gold rings, necklaces, bracelets, charms, pendants, sliders and anything else that is made of gold can be melted down and shaped into anything you would like. Some people collect all their gold and have it melted down to create one large piece, while others go to companies that sell jewelry and have several new pieces made, with brand new stones set. Keep in mind that there are many really pretty synthetic stones, so you do not necessarily have to purchase real stones, and many of these “false” stones look just as pretty.

Salvage Old Stones
Just as some people have old gold, others have old pieces of jewelry that has diamonds, rubies, amethysts, emeralds and many others. If you have old, worn looking jewelry that has become bent, or has simply lost its luster, you may be able to have the stones removed and set into a new piece of jewelry. This is what many people do. It is best to ask the jeweler to look at the quality of the stones to make sure they have not been compromised in some way. Some stones fare well while others become cloudy and scratched.

String Loose Beads Together
What about your beloved costume jewelry that has seen better days? The ones that have beads missing, or strings that have broken, leaving you with nothing but a pile of loose beads? These are by far the easiest to do something with, and the cheapest. You can go to any arts and crafts store and get what you need to create new jewelry out of your old beads. These make excellent gift ideas, especially for kids who might not be old enough to be trusted with fine jewelry.

Old jewelry is worth something, even if it is not worth money. Any jewelry you have lying around your house can be spruced up and made into something really nice like infinity necklace with names. The key is to use your sense of creativity. You can even design and have your own wedding set crafted by using old gold and jewels you have not used in years.

Jamaica Part 1

After sailing for 2 days, we finally reached our first destination....JAMAICA!!! We arrived at Montego Bay city around 9 am. When we got off the ship, we were greeted by the locals with a lively jamaican music. I thought it's really cool!
Some people stayed in Montego Bay area and some went to other excursions, while me and my family went to Kingston, the largest city and the capital of Jamaica. We chose the Applerum Tour.
Our tour guide, Joy is very accommodating and very patient for answering all our questions. She shared some facts and historical background of Jamaica which is very interesting.
Jamaica is quiet similar to the Philippines. The way of living is just the same. Narrow and bumpy roads, crazy drivers, nice houses, shack houses, etc.
During our stop over/potty break, we bought some snacks at one of the sari-sari/mini grocery stores in the area. While waiting in line, we saw this Jamaican girl kept staring at Akesha. Daughter said "hi" to her and she didn't say anything...lol! I asked her if I could take a picture of her, and she still didn't say anything...lol! So I asked Akesha if she can stand next to the girl so I can take a picture of them together.

A piece of Jamaica.

To be continued...
