Little Customer

How's your weekend everyone? I hope you had a wonderful one. Ours was OK. We ran some errands last Saturday. Early morning we went to Wellsfargo to get our Homestead notarized, but the banker was busy.
So, we left and drove to Chase. When we were at Chase, the line was super long...waaaaa! Hubby was getting frustrated. Anyhow, we got our document notarized at UPS.
Here's the little customer....patiently waiting in the lobby.

Baby Chicks

Up close with the baby chicks....
Too bad this little lady wasn't able to hold one. Photos were taken last weekend at San Antonio Rodeo & Stock Show. This is my entry for Camera Critters.
Y'all have a wonderful weekend. Will pay a visit after the weekend. Thanks for dropping by!

UTILIZE TECHNOLOGY FOR CONVENIENCE

Convenience as the end product of technology is what I see as one of the perks of living in the modern society. We are practically dependent on high technology to run our everyday lives, from our home that uses one-touch technology to create a meal, to our offices that uses income & expenses spreadsheet  to practically monitor a company’s financial performance with out delay. And if human resource is a problem there are now employee handbook template  that can be downloaded. There are practical ebooks available in just a click in whatever field you need it. All these come in a package that sets an avenue to make life easy.

On a more personal note, indeed our lives are practically stringed with technology, even the dumbest has the guts to utilize Facebook to communicate with the world, why worry when there’s this facebook guide  that will instruct you on what to click next. So don’t be afraid to try.

This phenomenon is inevitable; we are strained to ride with it whether we like it or not.

ABC Wednesday: Furry Friend

He's not only my daughter's furry friend, he is my daughter's best friend.
Our furry chow dog is 10-years old, and his name is BUDDY. We got him five years ago from SPCA before my daughter was born.
They're inseparable. They both sleep in the same room....lol!
When our dog got sick, my daughter was so worried. She was there at the hospital comforting her furry friend. She hugged him tight and told him "you'll be ok Buddy boy, I love you". I felt like I was about to cry when I heard her saying it. I thought it was so sweet!
This is my entry for this week's ABC Wednesday.

Chinese Scrolls

I bought a couple of Chinese scrolls during our visit to the Asian Festival weekends ago. I am very fascinated with Chinese writing. How I wish I know how to read them. I paid $45.00 for these two scrolls. I know it seems a little bit too high, but I just love them.
Hundred Happiness. A100 different ways to write the word 'Happiness'
I have no idea what this symbol means, anybody?

This is my entry for this week's Ruby Tuesday!

World’s Toughest Rodeo

How's your weekend everyone? Our weekend was awesome. We went to a rodeo show last Saturday and watched a concert show. Then Sunday we went to church and had a scrumptious barbecue dinner at home. How about you?
Btw, have you ever been to a rodeo before? I have seen it on TV, but nothing can compare with seeing live rodeo. Seeing a courageous and strong cowboy holding for his dear life on top of a wildly bucking bull is overwhelming. It was a lot of fun watching them. We would love to see it again next year.
Hubby said: Look at my pretty cowgirls!
After the concert we went to the barn to see some animals.
Photo not mine.
I was not allowed to bring my DSLR inside. So I left it at the costumer service. They said "any detachable lens or professional cameras are not allowed". I'm glad I brought my handy dandy camera with me. Here's a video for yah! Sorry for the "not so clear" result.

I heard that "the bulls were tough this year, like the bareback bronc, only a few brave riders were able to hold on for what seems to be the longest 8 seconds in the world." Pretty amazing!

Splendid...

Splendid white clouds on a blue sky. What a magnificent beauty.
I took this a weekend ago on our way to the commissary.

How's your Valentine's day celebration everyone? I hope you had a fantastic celebration with your loved one. We celebrated ours at home. We did not go out this time. Hubby came home late from work today. We just had a simple dinner, nothing fancy!
Anyway, my husband surprised me this morning. He woke me up with his "Happy Valentine's Day Honey" song...lol! He then handed me the flowers, a balloon, and a card. Thanks a lot hon! I was surprised because he already got me a Valentine present last weekend. He bought me a cowboy hat! No not the fake one (I have a few of those), the real one! What did I give him? Well, I gave him a cushion massager, a pack of car air freshener, and a card. How about you?

Rodeo & Stock Show

How's your weekend everyone? I hope you had a wonderful one. Ours was a well-spent weekend. Last Saturday morning hubby had a conversation on the phone with a friend regarding on upcoming trip this summer. Oh, I just can't wait for the big-O event. After talking on the phone, we went to the mall to pick up my glasses, then drove to the Rodeo Show. Sunday was a mellow day. We did not go to church because hubby wasn't feeling well, but on the afternoon we went to walmart to get some grocery stuff. How about you?
One of the biggest events here in SA is the Rodeo & Stockshow. The traffic was so bad, and it took us almost an hour to get to the parking lot. Parking space was $10.00/vehicle.
A quick pose with the real cowboy!
We got the best set in the house. It's a cowboy country show.
Here's my little cowgirl! Hubby bought her a cowboy hat!
with curious George....
You gotta love this dough....hhehehe!
country band...yehaaaaa! We did not go to the actual Rodeo Show where you can see bull riding and other stuff, but maybe next time. View some photos HERE.
Y'all have a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Coping With Debt

Americans of every class find themselves struggling with debt. The economy has been in a slump for quite some time now, forcing many Americans to deal with overwhelming debt. There are many reasons for increased debt such as foreclosing on a home, losing ones job, or losing money to the stock market. Whatever the reason for your debt, you should know you are not alone and visit franklindebtrelief.com for debt relief.

Hiring the right company to reduce and manage debt will bring a world of relief to anyone suffering from money management qualms. Such a company usually does not request money until results are seen, and can arrange for someone with debt to pay less they what they currently owe. It can take a lifetime to pay off a maxed out credit card with a high interest rate, and can leave one feeling overwhelmed and frustrated. However, credit card debt relief can help with credit card debt relief. As Americans we no longer have to wait a lifetime to be rid of credit card debt, but can be on the road to a better financial future in as little as 18 months. Depending on the amount and severity of debt it could take longer, but working with a professional will provide piece of mind and a solution to the problem.

Without help Americans find themselves falling deeper and deeper into debt. The problem seems, even with a secure income Americans are spending too much of that income to pay off their debt; therefore, these same Americans must use credit to buy groceries, clothing and pay other bills. It is a downward spiral for these people, but it must be realized that there is no shame in seeking help and the sooner one does the sooner debt relief is

A Grandeur Sunset

Honestly, you don't need to have a DSLR to be a good photographer, and having one doesn't automatically make you take better photos. Also, you don't need the DSLR to take good pictures. However, the flexibility sure can help. Take for example this grandeur sunset I took yesterday from our room window.

Not bad for a canon point and shoot camera right? I was going to use my DSLR camera yesterday, but I found out it needs to be charged. So instead I used my handy dandy point and shoot camera. I am very pleased with the outcome.

This is my entry for this week's Skywatch Friday.

Asian Festival

Last Saturday we went to the Institute of Texan Cultures to celebrate the Asian Festival. There are tons of activities going on, interesting exhibits, shows, different kinds of Asian food and etc. I was not in the mood to take pictures during that time...it was too crowded!

To support the said festival, we wore our Philippine shirts.
Representing...the Philippines!
Here are some tidbits of the Philippine folkloric dancers. I always get goosebumps every time I see Filipino dancers performing abroad. I love my country!
A peculiar bonsai plant, one of the many exhibits during the festival.

Snow Flurry

I suppose to blog about this last Friday, but I was occupied on that day. Anyhow, we had snow flurry last Friday! It is a miraculous thing when we get the white stuff here in San Antonio. As far as know, the last time it snowed here was 26 years ago.
My entry for Blue Monday. Canyon street neighborhood.
Hubby did not go to work that day. Well he drove a mile away, but then he came back. He decided to work from home instead. It's always not safe driving on the first day of snow.
This is our backyard, and behind is the pond. The snow was not even an inch. It was just a snow flurry kind. I hope it won't snow again here....lol! Now we are back to 60's and up degrees.
Thanks for dropping everyone! How's your weekend? Will pay a visit tomorrow for sure.

Taking Kids to the Ocean

Guest post from: Bruno Smith
I love taking my kids to the beach before school starts. We are from the snowy state of Michigan, but we have a house in gorgeous Naples, Florida. By taking my kids on a little vacation before school starts, they are able to relax and mentally get refreshed before a rigorous school year starts.
Before I leave for vacation, I make sure to set the home security alarm from inhomesecurity.com. This is a great way to make sure our home stays safe while I am away. My kids love having the time in Florida to relax and do whatever they want. A lot of times, they beg me to go to the beach with them. At the beach, we will pick up shells or go surfing. We sometimes just like to lay out and tan for hours. This is one of the most fun ways to bond with my kids.
My kids also love to ride their bikes around Naples, Florida. This is one of the safest areas of the country so I am not worried about letting them go off by themselves. Overall, I think a little vacation is a necessity for any child before a new school year starts up. This can be a great way that kids refresh their minds and clear them of all stress and anxiety. My kids love vacations and I know they love Florida!

Carabao....Cousins

It was my dad who took this photo a year ago during our 2nd visit to the Philippines. According to my mom, Akesha was overjoyed at seeing the carabao for the first time, and she did not even hesitate to take a ride on the carabao's back.....lol! They borrowed this carabao from a farmer so Akesha can ride on it. My parents took their 3 grandkids to the farm and gave them a free tour. I thought it was a neat idea for them to find way to bond with their grandkids. Akesha and her cousins had a blast.
This is my entry for this week's ABC Wednesday....
According to Wikipedia, the carabao (Filipino: kalabaw; Malay: kerbau) or Bubalus bubalis carabanesis is a domesticated subspecies of the water buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) found in the Philippines, Guam, Indonesia, Malaysia, and various parts of Southeast Asia. Carabaos are associated with farmers, being the farm animal of choice for pulling both a plow and the cart used to haul produce to the market.

Baby Hats

Don’t you think girls newborn hats are just too cute? When I was pregnant with my daughter, I was always on the lookout for those crocheted or knitted hats with big flowers on them. I also like those neutral newborn hats that has long strips on the side that looked like a braided colored hair.

There are times though that I would also want to have a baby boy. If girl’s hats had flower, boys newborn hats had those cute little pompoms on the top. Those pompom hats are not only a design though. Usually, they’re the same knot you’d use to adjust the size or the opening of the hat. I think it is important that hats for newborns are adjustable to ensure they really keep the baby’s head warm. Have you ever shopped those cute knitted hats for your newborn before?
