Car Wash

Our weekend was a busy one. How about yours? Weekend is not over yet in the US. We have a 3-day weekend because it's Memorial Day! Memorial Day commemorates the men and women who have died while serving in the United States military.
Anyhow, since we're busy running some errands and have no time to wash our car, we've decided to go to the "Dirt Busters" car wash yesterday. We thought our car needed some detailing....lol!
and we chose the gold medal wash....
Thirty minutes later, our car was finally clean and the seats were all squeaky clean. I definitely think they did a good job. They have a huge staff and do really take the time to clean everything by hand.

P.S: Will blog hop tomorrow for sure! Thanks for dropping by!

Books I Am Currently Reading

Reading is not really my cup of tea. How about you? Do you like to read? I hate reading since I can remember, but when I moved here in the US of A and took some reading classes, I've learned and appreciate the value of reading.
I have read quite a few biography books already....and so far so good...I like them all, except the "ALCATRAZ" book. It has a lot of swearing words which I don't like.
Here's my future bookworm.
"Reading is the royal road to intellectual eminence. Truly good books are more than mines to those who can understand them. They are the breathings of the great souls of past times. Genius is not embalmed in them, but lives in them perpetually." -William Ellery Channing

Take the Barefoot Challenge

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Making Change . All opinions are 100% mine.

Did you know that Bilaal Rajan is only 13 and will go barefoot everywhere to lead is 2nd Annual Barefoot campaign for world change? It doesn’t matter how old you are, you can still make a difference. Bilaal Rajan is interested in making change now. On May 27, 2010 in Toronto, this 13 year old boy will be getting everybody to kick off their feet to go barefoot which will be the largest celebration for Rajan’s Making Change Barefoot Initiative in North America. This idea started gaining grown last year and was making a change in Australia, Afghanistan, England, Switzerland, Thailand, Kenya, Malawi and Tanzania. You can even sign up for this initiative on his facebook page. The idea of going barefoot is to show how under privileged children in the world feel. People all over the world can’t afford shoes and can’t even attend school. I think this is a great idea. It is always good to bring awareness to problems around the world. If you can, you should do the barefoot challenge too. This is a great time to bring awareness to the poverty around the world. If you want to get more information, you should checkout Bilaal Rajan’s website today.

Camera Critters: Water Buffalo/Carabao

Yeha cowgirl! Oppsy, I mean carabao girl!....lol....:)
It was my dad who took this photo a few months ago during our 2nd visit to the Philippines. My mom said that Akesha was overjoyed seeing a carabao for the first time and she did not even hesitate to take a ride directly on the carabao's back.....lol! My mom told me that they only borrowed this carabao for Akesha. This was the time when my parents brought the kids (grandkids) with them to the farm.

According to Wikipedia, the carabao (Filipino: kalabaw; Malay: kerbau) or Bubalus bubalis carabanesis is a domesticated subspecies of the water buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) found in the Philippines, Guam, Indonesia, Malaysia, and various parts of Southeast Asia. Carabaos are associated with farmers, being the farm animal of choice for pulling both a plow and the cart used to haul produce to the market.

5 Simple Scholarships That Anyone Can Get!

Right after my daughter turns four (04/15), I immediately encouraged her to start writing her full name and she's been very cooperative. After 1 week of teaching her to write, she is now able to write every single letter of her full name....wohooo! Great job baby! Oopps, I mean Akesh! She told me not to call her baby anymore. She said " Mama, I'm not a baby anymore...I'm a big girl now!" Ouch, that hurts! My baby is a big girl now!
Photobucket
I hope she's ready to enter kindergarten next year. Going to pre-school is unnecessary in my opinion. My husband and I taught our daughter more than she would have learned at preschool. I teach her basic education on both languages, Tagalog & English. Way to go Akesh!

We can't wait to see her go to school and get a scholarship someday.
Are you looking for alternative easy scholarship? Well, here is a list of a few of the easy scholarships you could apply for:

1. Wells Fargo. They are giving out 20 $1000 scholarships. All you need to do to make an application is just fill in your name and also contact information.

2. Create a Greeting Card. Is giving $10,000 for college. All you need to do is create a greeting card and send to them to be entered for you to win the scholarship...pretty easy!

3. The Military Scholarship. For this one you simply complete the form and you are entered for the chance at $10,000. Additionally you do not really have to be in the military in order to win (don't tell anyone and improve your chances).

4. The Scholarships for Dads. One more $10,000 easy scholarship awarded out every month. All you need to do will be enter your name and email.

5. Scholarships for Moms. Again, just sign-up by filling in the form and you might win $10,000.

Bodyguards & Assasins DVD Movie

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of goviral. All opinions are 100% mine.

My husband and I love to watch movies all the time. We have quite a few numbers of DVD movies in our garage. One hobby that he likes is to collect movies. Last week he mentioned that he is planning to purchase the Bodyguards & Assasins DVD movie. This movie won a lot of Asian Film Awards such as Best Actor for Wang Xuengi and best Diretor for Teddy Chen. The movie takes place in Hong Kong at the time it was a British Empire. Sun Yat-sen discusses his plans to over throw the corrupt Qing Dynasty with a fellow Tongmenghui. The stars in the movie are Donnie Yen, Nicholas Tse, Leon Lai, Wang Xuenqi, Tony Leung Ka-fai, Hu Jun, Eric Tsang and a few more. The producers are Peter Chan and Huang Jianxin. Some of the characters are based on real historical figures, but most of the characters are fictional. This movie was originally released on Dec. 18, 2009 and now you can get it on DVD and Blue-ray. I can't wait to see this movie soon. So if you are interested to purchase this movie, you can purchase it on DVD and Blu-ray on May 31st from El Entertainment.

Looks like a Lion!

I know I am responsible for what I did to Buddy...I murdered his hair! I have no choice!.....nyahahahha.
I decided to trim his hair because I noticed his been itching a lot lately....And summer time is coming up, so for sure fleas and ticks will invade the rest of our house, and this will cause a flea infestation and we might need to call in some flea exterminators to do the job. I already applied some frontline flea spray on him.
Akesha said "Mama, Buddy looks like a lion!"....lol....:)

They will be selecting 50 classrooms that will be able to go on this field trip, and if you know a deserving classroom, you should nominate them.
